RaceRoom Racing Experience: Neue Fahrzeuge, Strecken und viele Verbesserungen

Sector3 Studios hat ein umfangreiches Update mit neuen Rennwagen, Strecken sowie Überarbeitungen der Physikengine, des Reifenmodells und vielem mehr für RaceRoom Racing Experience veröffentlicht

(MST/Speedmaniacs.de) - Zum Ausklang des Jahres 2020 hat Sector3 Studios für RaceRoom Racing Experience am 22. Dezember eine neue Version seiner PC-Rennsimulation ausgerollt. Die Downloadgröße von 5,3 GB weist bereits auf einiges an Änderungen hin und auch ein zweiter Blick in das Änderungsprotokoll der Version 0.9.2.16 zeigt, dass entwicklungsseitig einiges geleistet wurde.

Im V0.9.2.16-Update von RaceRoom Racing Experience steckt einiges an Arbeit Zoom

Zunächst aber gibt es mit dem Audi R8 LMS GT4 (2020), Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO, Audi R8 LMS GT2 sowie Volkswagen Scirocco Group 2 (1976) und Volkswagen ID. R (je Fahrzeug 3,98 EUR im RaceRoom-Store) erst einmal eine Reihe an neuen Fahrzeugen. Bei den Strecken wurde Brands Hatch um das Grand Prix-Layout erweitert und ebenfalls neu dabei ist Watkins Glen International (4,98 EUR im RaceRoom-Store) mit gleich vier Streckenvarianten.

Auf technischer Seite erweitert das Update die Simulation im Bereich der Physikengine. Zum Beispiel werden nun auch Motorkennfelder und Energierückgewinnungssysteme abgebildet und es gibt einige Verbesserungen in diesem Bereich. Außerdem werden weitere Fahrzeuge auf das aktuelle Reifenmodell (V4.1) aktualisiert. Neben einem neuen Replaymenü gibt es noch Korrekturen im Bereich der AI, Sounds und Streckengrafik. Alle Änderungen im Detail sind wie immer in der nachstehenden Zusammenfassung aufgeführt.

Physics engine:
-Physics engine - Added support for engine maps. Cars featuring these will have special settings in the car Set-up menu. Control bindings are also added to alter the map from inside the cockpit, which not all cars support.
-Physics engine - Added support for modifying the amount of Engine Braking from the car Set-up.
-Physics engine - Added support for throttle maps. Those are not tweakable in car Set-up but are specific to each car.
-Physics engine - Revamp of the turbo simulation for better realism of spool / throttle management.
-Physics engine - Added support for Energy recovery system, which is adjustable for electric and hybrid engines in the car Set-up menu as well as through a key bind from the cockpit.
-Physics engine - Revamp of the aerodynamics simulation of the diffuser to better simulate diffuser stalls when too close to the ground.

Dedicated server:
-Added "Skip Qualifying? option. If this is enabled, the server will fetch leaderboard laptimes of all connected players for the current track layout and the performance index of the car they're driving. The starting grid of the race will be defined by those lap times.
-Added "Prevent false start? option. If set to off, players will be able to jump the start of the race and receive a penalty for doing so.
-Added support for race duration in laps.
-Added an option for rolling or standing starts for each race session. A rolling start is right now still AI controlled, but we aim for human control rolling starts in 2021.

-Unification of cut detections between the reputation system and the cut corridors. Previously, an incident point for an off-track would not always result in the invalidation of the lap.
